It happened at Dorcas in May

Official month of the campaign to Combat Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Teenagers.

During this month, here at Dorcas we worked on prevention and guidance activities against child sexual abuse.

Follow us, interact with us and spread this message!

Peace Run

We promote this race every year with the aim of reinforcing the Culture of Peace, saying no to any and all forms of violence and reinforcing peaceful conflict resolution in the area.

Dorcas and the Educational Units already work on this topic constantly with children and teenagers, so we promote the event with the aim of involving families and the community as well.

Dance Activity

Do you know how important dance is in a child's life?

Children who dance work their muscles, stimulate motor coordination, flexibility, posture, have greater body awareness, notions of space and improve their social integration.

Capoeira

Did you know that Capoeira is a genuinely Brazilian fight?!

And when worked with children, it improves motor and intellectual development, helps with social inclusion and works on group coexistence!

With capoeira we work on citizenship through sport!

Astronomy Olympiad

Dorcas participated in the 27th Brazilian Astronomy Olympiad and Brazilian Rocket Show. 🚀

This is a national event held in Brazilian schools by the Brazilian Astronomical Society.

The children take a test with astronomy and astronautics questions and have the opportunity to build a rocket – a process that involves investigation, reflection and critical analysis so that the distance reached during launches increases every year.

Exchange Student Jonathan

July 6th is the last day of activities at Dorcas before the break, and also the last day of volunteer work for Jonathan as an exchange student. It was a time of learning, even though he had a little more difficulty with the language.

We discovered special skills in Jonathan, all done with great care and dedication.

During his time at Dorcas, we saw in him a person who was willing to learn and make himself available to help with any job.
