It happened at Dorcas in April

Photography Course

The teenagers had the opportunity to take part in a cell phone photography course, understanding techniques and ways of capturing the best image with the emotion that the moment expresses. They took part in a contest, where they met great talents.

Culture of Peace

In April, with the support of the Dá Pra Recriar Project, we hosted the Expedição Conexão (Connection ExpEdition), which aims to invest in working towards a culture of peace.

The workshops combined elements of role-playing games and stories with the creation of artifacts that inspired and amused the children, providing a unique experience, as well as a lot of learning!

Theme of the Period

The generating theme for this two-month period was “The privilege of being PRESENT”. Following this theme, we worked on the self, the us and the others.

Our relationships, family and HOME: Where do we live? What do we see through the window? What does my house look like?

The children and teenagers worked on symmetry, internal perspective of the room and creating models.

They also built a garden, where they put their hands in the soil, planted and watched the little plant grow.

Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous Peoples' Day is celebrated on April 19, and is of great importance because it reminds us of the cultural diversity of the Brazilian people, in addition to contributing to the preservation of the culture and history of indigenous peoples.

This date also serves as a moment to reflect on the fight against prejudice towards indigenous people and the maintenance of their rights.

Children and teenagers had workshops on the origins of indigenous people, their cuisine, customs and art.

They learned about feather art, basketry and ceramics. They were able to try foods of indigenous origin such as açaí, manioc, tapioca and guaraná.

Dorcas Scout Group

On one Saturday we had the visit from the kids from Kairós, a group of teenagers from the Redentor Community, with lots of fun, knowledge and, to finish, a delicious snack.

  • Jul-03 - Semiannual Exhibition in Almirante Tamandaré - SINDICOM;

  • Jul-06, 4pm - Semiannual Exhibition in Curitiba - Mario Schoemberger auditorium, EMBAP, Campus I.
