From June to August 2023, we carried out diagnostic reading assessments on Dorcas.
Out of a total of 120 students assessed, only 56.8% performed well.
That's why literacy in 2024 was chosen as our priority.
Starting with the youngest children, from the age of 4 (our G0), we begin the necessary stimuli for the construction of literacy and writing, all very playful, with repetition and consistency.
Literacy enables the individual to distinguish the sounds of the letters, to understand the design of each one and, by putting the letters together, to experience the enchantment of being able to form a word.
By putting a few words together, they can begin to read and write short texts. Then comes the meaning of what is read and written! And life reveals itself! Our investment is to ensure that children and teenagers develop a critical and autonomous reading of reality so that they can make the best choices in their lives.
No Dengue
With interdisciplinary activities and games, we worked with children and teenagers about Aedes aegypti.
We covered the mosquito's life cycle, the symptoms of the diseases it transmits, where it develops and how to prevent its proliferation.
Parents' Meeting
On March 27th we gathered around 80 people for the meeting of mothers, fathers and guardians at Dorcas.
Walking side by side with families is a privilege and a commitment to the transformation we want.
Easter
During Easter week we talk to children and teenagers about the true meaning of Easter.
On Thursday we had a special day with games, hot dogs, trampoline and chocolates for everyone.
