Dorcas is like a day hospital that takes care of children and teenagers, with bodies, minds and souls. It provides care for nutrition, health, education, values, feelings and emotions. Dorcas provides well-being with physical and emotional security. It helps to release their wings so that they have freedom and may dream again.
We offer support to students and employees through group devotions, individual assistance and mentoring. We encourage the leadership team to inspire everyone to develop their spirituality.
Our source is the spirituality of Jesus Christ, we do not indoctrinate theological lines or religions. Our intention is to sharpen the inner life so that each child discovers integral health also through individual and transforming experiences. The pinnacle of spirituality is to become more human.
We believe that spirituality is related to pedagogy in the integral reflection of the human being, in the processes of self-knowledge, human construction and moral values, such as: kindness, love, life, honesty, social justice.
We have learned that where there are children, the place is Sacred. Therefore, we take the sandals off our feet and place God at the center of our Mission.
Art and Modeling Workshop
In April, our focus was on indigenous art. A very rich art, composed of various elements laden with ancient symbology.
The most common indigenous productions for most Brazilian ethnic groups are: ceramics, body painting, masks, basketry and feather art.
In the ceramics class, we had the participation of Lena Muniz, artist and ceramist from Curitiba.
We worked with indigenous graphics using natural paint made with different types of clay and water.
We made some typically indigenous musical instruments using scrap metal.
Dorcas Scout Group Camp
The Dorcas Scout Group was full of joy, because from the 21st to the 23rd of April we had the AcamGrupo. The branches* Lobinho and Escoteiro stayed until the 22nd and Senior and Pioneer until the 23rd.
*Scouting is based on duties towards God, towards the homeland and towards others. It is divided into branches that consider the different skills that each age group can achieve in their physical, intellectual, social, affective and spiritual development. In this sense, we have the Lobinho branch for children from 6 to 10 years old; Scout branch from 10 to 15 years old; Senior branch for youth ages 15 to 18 and Pioneer branch for youth ages 18 to 21.
We have had a wonderful climate, sun and a little cold at night. The group was separated into patrols that rotated in 3 bases.
In the evening there was the council fire and then a night game. And as is our custom, throughout the night, we had the bonfire vigil, after all, the fire cannot go put out!
A time of fun, learning and a lot of tiredness.

Denarii Baazar is a space dedicated to financial education, where children and teenagers can shop using their Denarii (our currency here at Dorcas).
