Home visits help us to better understand the reality, to closely monitor families and to guarantee their rights.
The reality we find is painful, with multiple expressions of social inequality exposed in precarious housing, unhealthy work, lack of sanitation, hunger...
...But Dorcas believes that we should not only look at what is “lacking” in the territory.
We must have an ACTION with Reception, provide Coexistence, Learning and Opportunities so that each family, child and adolescent can develop their abilities and potential to the maximum and become transformers of their reality! |

Our action, especially during this time of pandemic, is to take care of the Dorcas Family.
Every beginning of the month, we are delivering basic food baskets to the families served by Dorcas, in addition to complementary activities printed for the children and teenagers. |

Combating Child Exploitation |

May 18th is National Day to Combat Child Exploitation.
The fight is every day, day and night, non-stop!
And prevention through education is our best strategy in this fight.
With activities, videos, storytelling and lots of information, we teach children and adolescents to protect themselves and to say no to touches that make them sad or embarrassed, and also to not have "little secrets" or "big secrets" from anyone! And of course, always have an adult they trust to tell everything that happens.
Your attitude can change a child's future forever.

Taking care of those who care is essential!
We brought together the caregivers of our children and adolescents so that they could have a special time of welcoming, listening, reflection and strengthening the bonds between the Dorcas Project and the families.
We know that this work is one of the pillars for the full development of children and adolescents who are in Dorcas.

Dorcas Emergency Registration |
|
Starting in the second half of May, we will be delivering basic food baskets to families registered in the Dorcas Emergency Registration.
More than 60 families from Jardim Bonfim are receiving support to put food on the table in their homes.
These families receive assistance and an interview with a Dorcas social worker so that they can make commitments in the process of overcoming their vulnerabilities and also ensure their rights through the necessary referrals. |
