This year is of course not normal for the Dorcas project either. On site in Brazil, employees are mobilizing all their strengths to ensure that not only the children and young people, but also their families remain healthy and are provided with the essentials. Because the current situation is particularly difficult for them.

The Dorcas team reacted very quickly and started alternative ways just one day later to ensure that the urgently needed help did not stop, even in times of the Corona lockdown. All areas of the project were operational and covered in a very short time.

Homeschooling
The teachers are constantly developing teaching materials that the families receive daily. A lot of things are difficult. Many of the participants have massive learning difficulties, reports Darclê da Cunha. Many of the younger children in particular lack direct support because their parents cannot help them with reading and writing. And last but not least, there is the problem that the material does not reach everyone due to a lack of digitalization. |

Brass, flutes & choir
Rehearsals and lessons of the Projeto Música no Bairro are carried out digitally, so that the children and young people can continue to make music together and strengthen their skills, although not together. |

Practical everyday help
94 families regularly receive food and hygiene kits. Dorcas herself calls it "opening the pantry." Baskets for the families are packed with food from public and private donations and made available. |

Worship service
Life in Dorcas also includes the daily devotions, which are now posted on a separate YouTube channel during the time of separation from Pastor Dudu and provide the children at home with comfort and a feeling of togetherness. |

| The employees regularly send their digital greetings to their students via social media. Music teacher Tadeu Malaquias sums up the feelings and longings: |
