June was a short month for us, as the winter holidays began on July 13th. A lot has happened nonetheless! And as nice as it is to enjoy the free time, it was even nicer to start the new semester with the children and young people last Thursday!
It started on July 3rd with a performance by the choir "Pipa Amarela" in the nearby school "Mirta Prosdocimo" in Almirante Tamandaré. |

| In July, our scouts took part in a Brazil-wide campaign to raise awareness of the environment and health. On July 6th, they spoke together about the dangers of dengue fever and the relevance of food. After that, they got to work and built a vegetable garden! |

| On the first Sunday, July 8th, our indoor soccer team and their new jerseys took part in the 2nd round of the UESA League. |

| Tuesday, July 9th was packed with great activities! Thanks to the help of our supporters Delta Cable IT Solutions and Time Control Contabilidade, we were able to celebrate the traditional folk festival "Festa Junina" here at Dorcas. There was candy floss and popcorn and of course lots of games and fun! Thank you for this great day! |

| On the same day, group G3, the oldest in the project, gave a talk at a school in the neighborhood, the "Colégio Perussi". They talked about the various activities in Dorcas, such as music, sports and the scouts. And it went on... |

| ... on the same evening there was also parents' evening! :) A really successful day! |

| The following Friday, July 12th, there was a concert for all classes of the Projeto Música no Bairro, the music section of Dorcas. The students showed in the auditorium of the "Colégio Martinus" what they had learned in the past semester on the flute, in the choir or with the brass instruments. A great evening! |

| We then concluded our program for July on the 13th with the "Night of Soups" to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Dorcas Scouts. There was a campfire, a performance by the brass band and, of course, delicious soup! Here's to another 5, 10, 50 years of living and learning together |

| A particularly great look ahead to the coming month is the concert by our former student Adriano Trarbach on August 6th in the Capela Santa Maria in Curitiba. He is currently visiting Brazil again and is taking the opportunity to delight us with his music. From October 2019 he will start his music studies in Hamburg. We are really looking forward to the evening! |
